Pathway Component Details
Name: tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6)
Definition: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) sense invading pathogens by recognizing specific microbial patterns (PAMPs) and induce the activation of innate immunity. Upon PAMP recognition, TLRs recruit IL-1R-associated kinase (IRAK) through the adapter MyD88 resulting actiavtion of TRAF6 leading to the translocation of the NF-kB transcription factor and subsequently the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
